After a huge month of events, workshops, talks, tours and exhibitions, DESIGN Canberra Festival 2020 will finish up this Sunday 29 November.

Before we say our final goodbyes, here’s what not to miss in the final week.

STRETCH

It’s been a big three weeks, so stretch it out on Thursday at a free morning yoga session at the DESIGN Canberra Festival Hub.

A PROPER FAREWELL

And then on Friday night, round out a big three weeks with the final City Sessions at the DESIGN Canberra festival hub, where you can settle in and take in live music against the backdrop of iconic mid-century design and architecture.

Grab a drink from the Pop Inn wine bar while you’re there—you’ve earned it!

LISTEN LIVE

You know the drill on Friday arvo—head to the final City Sessions event at the DESIGN Canberra festival hub, where you can settle in and take in live music against the backdrop of iconic mid-century design and architecture.

MEET ICONIC DESIGNERS

And Saturday is a great opportunity to visit a lineup of amazing local designers and makers during Week Three of Open Studios. Between 10 am and 4 pm, you can swing by studios including FINK Design, Atelier 818: Lisa Cahill, Storybird Studio, Pure Pod, Thor’s Hammer and plenty more.

MAKE + MEDITATE

On Thursday, take some time out of your day and pause for a while with a restful and grounding lunchtime pinchpot meditation session, led by local ceramicist Fran Romano. You’ll leave feeling centred and calm.

FABULOUS FLORALS

And round out the festival on Saturday by learning how to create a bold floral arrangement for your home in a hands-on workshop run by Brave Botanics.

Inspired by the landscape and mother nature, Brave Botanics specialises in sustainable practices, like using locally sourced and grown flowers, foraged plant materials, and creating without floral foam or excessive waste.

HOME GROWN HOME MADE

Explore a curated selection of new furniture, homewares and jewellery by some of the most exciting early-career designers and makers from across Australia at HOME:MADE 20 at Canberra Contemporary Art Space. You might discover your new favourite artist.

WEAVING WEDNESDAY

Pop out for lunch on Wednesday and learn how to weave at the Spinners and Weavers workshop at the DESIGN Canberra Festival Hub.

Learn all about the weaving different styles and techniques, before getting to work on your own creation. You will create your own small weaving to keep or gift to a loved one.
