Meet the new-look Pop Inn
Posted on
Canberra’s favourite outdoor pop-up wine bar—the Pop Inn—has unveiled a new look to celebrate its fourth anniversary.
The brainchild of foodie and vino enthusiasts Kimberley and Eldad Ohayon, the Pop Inn was founded in 2017 as a way for the couple to pair some of Canberra’s best local drops with our most stunning natural scenery.
Soon, the opportunity to relax by a lake, in a park or even on top of a mountain with a glass of something good and a cheeky charcuterie board became a mainstay of Canberra’s foodie culture.

Now, four years on, this brand refresh coincides with a ramp-up in the Pop Inn’s event schedule, starting with a COVID safe birthday celebration on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 February in Kingston’s Bowen Park.
“COVID-19 has created an uncertain time for all of us, but it gave us the time to think about the future of the Pop Inn and how we’re interacting with Canberrans,” says Kimberley.
“We have so many gorgeous spots around Canberra that allow us to create a beautiful experience right where we are. We always strive to offer an ever-changing but familiar experience for our customers, so on our fourth birthday, we wanted the brand to evolve to reflect that.”

The Pop Inn’s new branding.
The colourful, modern rebrand echos the international inspiration behind Kimberley’s creation of the Pop Inn four years ago.
“The idea of the Pop Inn was conceived while travelling in Italy. Although travel may be off the cards for a while, we want the Pop Inn to be a nostalgic reminder of holiday fun—a place to get away while we can’t actually get away.”
And get away you shall when you head to the Pop Inn’s relaunch celebrations.
Across the weekend of Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 February, Bowen Park will become a festive hub of COVID-safe celebrations, with cheese and wine tastings, live entertainment, lawn games, lucky door prizes, a scavenger hunt-style raffle and even a pop-up postcard station from 2 pm each day.

While entry will be free, guests must be over the age of 18.
As for the future, watch this space, with the Pop Inn expanding its events schedule like never before—think: more delicious food, wine and events than you can poke a picnic blanket at.
“We see the Pop Inn as a community corner, and we’re excited to reveal more community collaborations with local wineries, small businesses, the arts sector and other tourist attractions around Canberra,” says Kimberley.
