Spud-tacular! A potato festival is coming to the Southern Highlands
Posted on
If you’re a potato-loving, spud-consuming, fry devotee, this one’s for you.
The potato-growing town of Robertson (also known as the home of the Big Potato—yes that’s a thing) is bringing our potato-filled-fantasies to life as they get ready to kick off the first-ever Robertson Potato Festival.
Running from Saturday, April 30 until Sunday 1 May, the two spud-tastic days will be filled with cooking demonstrations, live music, and potato-themed fun for the whole family (including your tater-tots).
With a peeling competition, potato sack races, spud and spoon race as well as a mash eating competition and more, it’s the perfect opportunity to show off your devotion to the humble potato and rack up points for a chance to be crowned the 2022 “Cream of the Crop” Spudfest Champion.
There will even be a competition to crown the “Hottest of Hot (Potato)” in Hessians Haute Couture. All you need to do is chanel Marylin Monroe in her iconic potato sack dress, make it fabulous, fun, and funny and strut your stuff in the Hessians On The Field Parade for the chance to win a SINGER sewing machine and cash prizes.
Foodies will also be in their element with plenty of vendors will be selling delicious potato-based food dishes that will a-peel to everyone.
It’s the perfect excuse to stop being a couch potato, get out of town, and enjoy a spud-tacular experience.
