The much-loved event runs across nine mornings from 11-19 March, and features balloons from around the world. This year, the Hummingbird (from the United States) and the Smurf (from Belgium) will make their debut Australian flights in Canberra as part of the event.

Balloons launch daily from 6.15am on the lawns of Old Parliament House against the distinctive backdrop of Canberra’s national attractions. Breakfast, courtesy of the Belconnen Lions Club, will be available each morning, with proceeds of all purchases donated back into the Canberra community.

Last year, just under $40,000 was donated to Canberra charities in need.
Each year, thousands of spectators attend the Canberra Balloon Spectacular and enjoy the early morning flights. More than 40,000 spectators are expected to attend this year, with crowds reaching approximately 5,000 on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
