Floriade’s Dogs’ Day Out is back this weekend

Calling all doggos, big and small. 

Dogs’ Day Out returns to Floriade this Sunday 14 October to give all dog lovers the opportunity to celebrate their four-legged friends with a Superhero Dogs’ Day Out.

All pups are invited to soak up the sunshine and explore Floriade with special dog-friendly activities and entertainment throughout the day including presentations, a superhero costume contest, food and beverage for pups and owners and even appearances by celebrity pups Avalon and Maluka.

Some highlights include the Animal Rescue Group Meet and Greet where you can have a chat with local animal rescue groups like RSPCA ACT, ARF and 4Lyfe. There are also some doggos looking for their new forever home. Yes, that’s right, you could find your dream pooch at Dogs’ Day Out.

What about treats for good boys and girls? Everyone’s favourite toy brand, KONG, will be hosting presentations (with toys included!) and there will be a Pooch Cafe located opposite Stage 88, where dogs and their owners can enjoy the food and entertainment up on the main stage. A variety of dog treats will be available for purchase so your doggo can indulge after a hard week.

Does your pooch need something a bit harder? Capital Brewing Co. will have lots of doggie beer (not actually alcoholic) at their Pooch Pub. Located alongside the Dog Demo Area, you can sit back, relax and have a brew while your four-legged friends do the same.

Do you have a stylish pup? The 2018 Best Dressed Dog theme is Superheros to align with Floriade’s pop culture theme, with you and your pupper encouraged to dress up in superhero attire. All participants receive a prize with major prizes going to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners. Sign up is available on the day at Stage 88.

Need some new gear? There will be over 25 vendors selling toys, treats, collars, leads, clothing, kennels, grooming accessories, comfy plush beds, dog food and dog giftware. There will also be dog washing available from Jim’s Dog Washing.
