There’s so much to see, do and hear in first week of Heritage Festival.
With so many events on offer as part of the first week of the Canberra and Region Heritage Festival, there’s no excuse not to explore our region’s diverse history.
This week you can look forward to:
Grab the family and your smartphone for Geocaching treasure hunt

‘I found my hands itching for my phone.’
With Queanbeyan as your base, access over 3,000 active geocaches with a great variety of challenges on offer for all skill levels as part of the at Clear Waters national geocaching event.
Forage for your own bush tucker with Wiradjuri man Adam Shipp
On Tuesday, learn about the plants found around the region and their use as food and medicine by the traditional owners of the land.
Kids aged 5 to 15 will enjoy this school holiday activity.
Cycle the Old Weetangera Road

On Wednesday, explore this seven-kilometre one-way ride through Belconnen and hear the stories about the history of the road and people who lived along it.
Attend the premiere of two short documentary films and discover Canberra’s role in 1969 moon landing
One of the films narrated by former Deputy Director at Honeysuckle Creek Tracking Station, Mike Dinn, is sure to impress those with fond memories of the time – with both screenings held Wednesday.
