Three Art Prints. Three Locations. One Day.
Want to nab some free art prints from one of Canberra’s most talented emerging artists? Well, my friends, you’re in luck.
On Sunday 17 March, Canberra’s own Jess Cochrane is hosting a pop-up art giveaway from the boot of a travelling Mercedes-Benz convertible.
Up for grabs will be a new series of three limited-edition prints, which Jess has created around the iconic three-pointed star and the femininity behind the history of Mercedes-Benz and the automotive industry.
Why Mercedes-Benz, you ask?
Jess explains, “This collaboration is about reclaiming the female form.”
“Historically, women have been objectified in print advertising for motor vehicles. This art series is about empowering women by flipping this idea on its head; showcasing women and vehicles in our own way.”
This Sunday, Jess will be cruising around town, popping open the boot at three iconic Canberra locations:
- 10 am: Sonoma, Lonsdale St, Braddon
- 12 pm: Brodburger Kingston, Kingston Markets
- 2 pm: Capital Brewing Co, Dairy Flat Road, Fyshwick
One print type will be given out at each location, so if you’d like a complete set, you’ll need to visit all three. You’d best be quick—there will only be 20 posters up for grabs at each location. It’s first in, best dressed.
