Fancy a bit of night skiing (or a snowball fight at sunset?)
If you like your snow action close to home, the ACT’s only ski field, Corin Forest, is now offering night skiing and boarding. Snow-lovers can now experience the winter season for even longer every Wednesday to Saturday evening from 5:30pm to 9:30pm.
Just 45-minutes drive from Central Canberra, Corin Forest is in the Tidbinbilla Mountain Ranges and offers beginner skiing or boarding, with lessons from trained instructors available; snow play for tobogganing, building snowmen and snowball fights.
The season will include a line-up of themed nights, including Girls Night every Thursday, in which women can bring a girlfriend for free and experience complimentary coaching to improve their skills in a relaxed and chilled atmosphere.
Other themes include Wednesday Park Night, featuring a different rail or jump every week, Friday is Family Pizza Night with Corin’s famous wood-fired pizzas for only $10 each, and Saturday All-In is an open session for all.
The cafeteria will be open and offering skiers and boarders the chance to warm up by the open fireplace, roast giant marshmallows and enjoy a hot meal.
A four-hour session is $30 and tickets must be purchased online at corinforest.com.au. Corin Forest is on Corin Dam Road, accessible by car via Point Hut Crossing or the Cotter.
