Everything you need to know about canberra. ONE DESTINATION.

Visit Jurassic World these school holidays

Posted on

There’s a destination in Canberra that’s hosted the likes of Star Wars Stormtroopers, Where’s Wally?, Transformers, Gru and Minions, and now, a herd of dinosaurs from Jurassic World.

No, we’re not talking about a theme park or film studio, but South.Point Tuggeranong.

From the 29 September until 12 October, visit Centre Court to see lifelike dinosaurs, free craft, and much more.

Attendants will be on hand to help kids paint their very own Jurassic World dinosaur sculpture, which they can take home in a branded Jurassic World bag.

The prehistoric fun doesn’t end there—there’s also a dinosaur roaming around South.Point for kids to interact and take photos with. Plus, Limelight are offering $6 screenings of Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom.

Had your fill of all things dino? No problem. There are loads of other ways to keep the kids happy at South.Point these school holidays.

Play it cool

iPlay have a huge array of arcade games, including Pirate Hook, Big Bass, racing games and a full-size air hockey table. There’s also a fantastic party space for birthday parties or get-togethers. There’s no need to spend a fortune either – iPlay are running a promotion which gets you $20 of credit for every $40 loaded, so your dollars go even further.

 Bask in the Lime Light

Once you’ve taken advantage of the $6 screenings of Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom, there’s still plenty of fun to be had at Limelight. For starters, there’s a range of Sing-a-Long sessions featuring films like Disney’s Moana and Frozen. Not to mention Smallfoot, The House with a Clock in its Walls, Christopher Robin, Johnny English Strikes Again, Paw Patrol: Mighty Pups, Teen Titans Go! To the Movies, and more.

Fill your tummies

Whether it’s milkshakes, a sweet treat, or a healthy lunch you’re after, you’ll be spoilt for choice at South.Point. Rashays has recently opened and is serving up family-friendly dining in a casual atmosphere. Think pizzas, parmys, burgers and steaks, plus a cracking kids menu with meals for under $10.

If it’s a dessert fix you’re after, check out Phat Panda Urban Asian for their crowd-pleasing Phat Puff Waffle or fried bao filled with bubble gum gelato. They’re bright, fun and perfect for a school holiday treat.

Of course, we haven’t forgotten the mums. With all the school holiday madness, you’ll no doubt be craving some caffeine. Refuel at any of South.Point’s cafes, including Brew Bar, Caffe Cherry Beans, Espresso Room and The Coffee Club.

Creep and crawl

It’s one thing to keep the big kids entertained, but the littlies need some fun too. Take them to the Kids Zone for a range of interactive activities including play stations where they can crawl, climb and play in their own special corner of South.Point.
