Here are the best ways to get beer-ducated during Canberra Beer Week.

Canberra Beer Week is almost upon us, launching officially next Thursday 5 November.

This is the time of the year when your otherwise food-uninterested partners might actually prefer a five course meal to a pub lunch and you can catch up with your friends over a pint of boutique cider from Sydney rather than cocktails.

Apart from making really fun days out or dates, the Canberra beer festival is a great way to expand your palette and get to know both the Canberra region breweries as well as a handpicked selection from interstate.

You may be a wine buff who can smell their way around the Canberra Region Wineries, but now’s the time to learn how to pair beer and cider with food – and cook with it too!

This year sees the festival expand to 50 events across 20 venues until Wednesday 11 November including tap takeovers, tasting events, food matchings and much more.

Beer Day Out @ Kingston

For those who want the full beer-sperience with all the trimmings across one weekend.

Happening over two days, Beer Day Out is for those obsessed with the sweet science of hops, barley and malt. They will showcase over 30 Australian and International craft breweries.

There will be prizes, draws and all things BEER, beer and food matching sessions and more beer-ducation than you can poke a bottle at.

PACT Summer Ale @ The Old Canberra Inn

For those who want to support a small Canberra brewer.

The official launch of PACT’s latest release – a Summer Ale – just in time for the start of the summer season.
