There’s nothing better than a cold scoop on a hot day.
Whether it’s a half melted gelato dripping onto the pavement or a freezing cold Paddle Pop from the supermarket, ice cream just hits the spot during Summer. Here are some of our favourite ice cream vendors for summer.

Frugii Dessert Laboratory
A Canberra ice cream icon, Frugii is located in the beautiful ORI Building on Lonsdale Street in Braddon.
Frugii make their own range of Ice Cream, Gelato, Sorbets, Chocolates, and spectacular chilled cakes, all from scratch! Sorbets are made using filtered water, sugars and fresh fruit and nearly all of the flavours are gluten and dairy free.
Their aim is to avoid the use of commercial colours or flavourings. They even make their own oils, extracts, nut pastes, and chocolate.

Via Dolce

Not only are Via Dolce the producers of beautiful authentic gelato, they also make the most magnificent desserts, cakes and pastries.
This is definitely the go to place for an after dinner treat in the city. Choose from flavours such as blood orange, mango, biscotto, salted caramel, white chocolate, coffee, lemon and the list goes on!

Pure Gelato – Mitchell

Pure Gelato manufactures and distributes award-winning Gelato—you’ll even find it in the famous eightysix Caramel Popcorn Sundae! Stripey Sundae

Stocked with ice cream made onsite to their own recipes, Stripey Sundae is set in the beautiful historical Ginninderra Village. A quaint little shop that is perfect for families to sit back and enjoy a cuppa and a delicious ice cream treat.
Also offering Fairtrade coffee, affogatos, old fashioned milkshakes and home-made baked. Stripey Sundae is the perfect place for a treat or to catch up with friends. Expect to find all your favourite flavours, plus unusual options such as Rhubarb & Honey, Redskin and Pffernusse. There are also coconut and soy ice creams, and sorbets.

Bertoldo’s Gelato Mio

Made on premises, you will find a huge range of authentic Italian Gelato at Bertoldo’s. You can’t go past flavours like lemon sorbet, nutella, cookies and cream, cramalised fig, roasted almond praline, snickers and honeycomb. And that’s just for starters.
