Here are some resources for those who are alone or struggling.
St Johns Canberra Christmas Day
The St John’s Care Christmas Day Community Lunch, in the Church Hall at 45 Constitution Avenue, Reid commencing at Noon, is a lunch for anyone and everyone.
It is a lunch to make sure that no one has to spend Christmas Day alone.

SALVOS
You’re invited to celebrate Christmas with The Salvos!
Christmas is a time for celebration and we want you to celebrate with us.
Every year, they host free Christmas meals across the country. It is an opportunity to share good food with great company in the spirit of companionship.
Salvos Christmas meals are no ordinary events. You will be welcomed with open arms to celebrate the spirit of Christmas in a joyous environment with decorations, music and all the Christmas trimmings.
If you would like to join Salvos for a Christmas meal, you have to register early as these events book out quickly. Call 6254 8901 to reserve a spot.

VINNIES NIGHT PATROL
This year the Vinnies Night Patrol team together with community group Kindness Conquers All will be holding a free community BBQ on Christmas Day 25 December for those that have nowhere to go for Christmas lunch.
The lunch will be held at Glebe Park from 12 pm–2 pm.
The Night Patrol Van will be there and a free BBQ will be provided and other Christmas treats.

If you or someone you know is struggling with a crisis, Lifeline will be there. Their hotline is open 24/7 and manned by kind, compassionate volunteers.

HELP FOR THOSE AFFECTED BY DOMESTIC, PARTNER OR FAMILY VIOLENCE
The Domestic Violence Crisis Service (DVCS) supports all people affected by domestic/family violence. This includes people who are subjected to violence and abuse and people who use violence and abuse.
Notwithstanding this, their service does prioritise the needs of people subjected to violence and abuse.
DVCS acknowledge that reports of domestic and family violence spike over Christmastime and as such, their crisis hotlines will be open 24/7 over the entire holiday period, as always.
