Do you know an amazing local woman who deserves recognition?

Nominations are now open for the 2018 ACT Women’s Awards.

The ACT Women’s Awards honour individual women who have made an outstanding contribution to the lives of women and girls in the ACT.

In 2018 There will be three categories of awards:

• ACT Woman of the Year – all nominees are automatically considered in this category
• ACT Senior Woman of the Year – nominees 60 years and over at 8 March 2018
• ACT Young Woman of the Year – nominees 16 – 25 years at 8 March 2018

If you know of a woman who has contributed to the lives of women and girls in the ACT, you’re strongly encouraged  to nominate her. Nominations close on Wednesday, 17 January 2018 and can be submitted via SmartyGrants website. Please note that self-nominations will not be considered.

Winners of each category of the 2018 ACT Women’s Awards, will be automatically included in the ACT Women’s Honour Roll. Recipients of each category of 2018 ACT Women’s Awards will also be entered for consideration for the Australian of the Year Awards, unless the nominee requests otherwise. Click Here to Nominate for the ACT Woman’s Awards.

Nominations are also now open for the 2018 Women’s Honour Roll

The ACT Women’s Honour Roll acknowledges and celebrates outstanding achievements of women in Canberra. The ACT Women’s Honour Roll will be released every two years commencing in 2018 and will digitally compile all past female recipients of a number of awards since self-government in 1988 including:

• ACT Women’s Awards
• ACT Australian of the Year Awards
• ACT Citizen of the Year Awards
• The Honour Walk
• ACT Scientist of the Year

Nominations from members of the community for women who have made a lasting contribution in Canberra will also be considered. A full list of the categories for nomination can be found here.

Nominations are now being received online through the SmartyGrants system. To submit a nomination visit the SmartyGrants website.

Selection criteria

Nominees will be assessed against their lasting contributions to Canberra, and/or Australia and internationally.

Linking in with other awards

Inductees of the 2018 ACT Women’s Honour Roll will be entered for consideration for the Australian of the Year Awards, unless the nominee requests otherwise. Nominee details will be forwarded for consideration for other relevant ACT Government Awards unless the nominator or nominee requests otherwise. All nominations for ACT Woman of the Year will automatically be included for assessment for the ACT Women’s Honour Roll.
