Five big bridesmaid dress trends for 2017

Posted on

Trends in bridesmaid dresses for the new year will see the revival of old classics, as well as a few modern additions –  not to mention the survival of a few of last year’s trends! Here are a few of our favourites…

Sequins

Make your bridesmaids sparkle in sequined dresses. There is a huge range out there, in both long and short styles, and in fully-sequined or partially sequined designs. Regardless of the style, sequined dresses can add serious glamour to any wedding.

Off-the-shoulder

As one of the most flattering styles of 2016, off-the-shoulder is here to stay. The style has dominated mainstream trends, but has quickly been adopted in the wedding world as a favoured style for brides and bridesmaids alike.

White dresses

Whilst not a new trend, white bridesmaid dresses are in for the long haul. The trend has proven its worth: the pure elegance of the aesthetic it creates makes white a popular option, as does the versatility in dresses it can accommodate. Designating white as the colour for your bridesmaid dresses means bridesmaids can choose their own styles without making for an awkward array of hues in the dresses!

 Jumpsuits

Just like off-the-shoulder dresses, jumpsuits are a mainstream trend that have crossed over into bridesmaid fashions. And for good reason – the jumpsuit adds a modern, fun twist to an already elegant piece.

Slit dresses

Another trend that will be around for a while are slit dresses, which exude elegance and sophistication. The simple feature of a slit goes a long way in creating a distinct aesthetic for the dress.
