Real Wedding: Alycia and Robbie
Posted on
From the dress right down to the styling, Alycia and Robbie’s wedding at Pialligo Estate had a whimsical charm that had us swooning.
Getting ready
Alycia: The Soul Sisters and I (aka the bridesmaids), were very privileged to get ready at a close friends’ private residence at Pialligo, while Robbie and the Groomsmen got ready at his parent’s house
The dress
I did some research online to get an idea of styles which then led me to visit Eternal Bridal in Sydney who stocked Hayley Paige gowns – I just seemed to gravitate towards her beautiful styles when browsing online.
The sheer lace long sleeves and back detail was definitely not what I was originally going for, but I just fell in love with it for all the right reasons – simplicity, timeless elegance yet a whole lot of character.
Ceremony
The ceremony was just an out-of-this-world feeling. From walking down the aisle and seeing my handsome groom’s beaming smile, to the heart-bursting vows we sincerely exchanged. I’ve never felt more pride and happiness towards one human being.
A moment in the ceremony, just as we started our vows, there was a sudden silence and all I could hear was a really soft breeze. I then listened to every word Robbie went on to share in his vows and I literally forgot anyone else was around – this felt really special.
Reception
The thing we loved most about our venue, Pialligo Estate, is you just feel out of this world when you’re there (all the other offerings were just a bonus).
We loved the rural setting, all the while just a ‘stone’s throw’ from the heart of Canberra. We fell in love with the vibe, the gardens, the farmhouse, the pavilions, the food and instantly we knew we had to share a taste of this amazing serenity with our family and friends.
Food throughout the event was really important to us, and Pialligo definitely delivered a delicious feast! After the ceremony, we opted for grazing station including a selection of meats and antipasto.
Entrée was served share-style with three selections which was a nice, social way to kick off the dining. Mains were served individually for the guests’ convenience during formalities and dessert was a selection of tarts and sweets for each table.
Little did we know our MC, Gazza, organised an all-in group hug as we were welcomed into the reception as Mr & Mrs. It was one of the most fun and hilarious moments we’ve ever experienced.
Robbie also delivered an awesome speech that I’ll cherish forever. It was the one thing he was so nervous about, and he pulled it off like a pro… especially when he whipped out the original receipt I wrote my number on 10 years ago!
Robbie and I took a minute during the reception to sit back and appreciate the rare occasion it was, that our family and friends were captured in one room, at the same time, to share such a special day with us.
