Keeley and Chris describe their twilight wedding as “magical” and judging from the photos, you can see why. The lovely bride takes us through the day.
GETTING READY
I got ready at EAST Hotel in Kingston with the bridesmaids, while Chris was at home with the men, including my nine year old. They arrived at the hotel in the afternoon and walked me down to see Chris for our ‘first look’. Ours was a twilight ceremony, so we did all our photos beforehand, which was great and also made a much smoother transition from ceremony to reception.

THE DRESS
I originally bought a plain white dress that fit me nicely with a plan of doing it up, however, stressed with my final semester at uni and wedding planning, I decided I didn’t have the time to do it well.
Ceremony
The ceremony venue (the Arboretum) was a dream of ours – such a stunning location and architecture.
We used to drive past it before we were even engaged and Chris would say, ‘that’d be such a great place to get married.’
For our reception we didn’t want anything formal, we just wanted a relaxing, fun evening with family and friends, somewhere beautiful. We found the perfect setting for that at Mint Garden Bar in Braddon.
It was an amazing night among the fairy lights, having drinks, canapés and bar pizzas with our guests. The reception styling pretty much consisted of me buying battery operated lights and flinging them at a friend and begging them to ‘do something’ with them.
It worked rather well I think. (There wasn’t much that needed to be done anyway, Mint Bar is stunning.) From start to finish the atmosphere of the entire day was magical.
