Real wedding: Natalie and Jonathan
Posted on
Natalie and Jonathan’s wedding was beautiful – it showcased stunning locations around Canberra and talented local vendors; but the radiant joy of the couple and their friends stole the show. Natalie takes us through the day..
Getting ready
I got ready at home (where Jono & I live) and Jono got ready at QT hotel.

The day was a dream! Getting ready with my bridesmaids was definitely one of the highlights, it was the most relaxed morning, just chilling at home, slowly getting ready. I was feeling quite nervous in the morning but then leading up to the ceremony I was really excited!

The dress
I got my dress in Sydney from Karen Willis Holmes. I was first attracted to the material, it’s a beautiful thick Mikado material and just flowed really nicely.

I never thought I would wear a strapless dress but when I tried it on I felt really comfortable and it just felt right!

It was actually a separate top piece and skirt piece that they sewed together. So, I kind of got to design my own. It’s a very simple dress but also very different, especially with the big split in the skirt.

The ceremony
Once I saw Jono I just felt really happy and felt I could just relax and enjoy.

After the ceremony we went to the Kingston Foreshore for some photos near the fitters workshop then before going to our next spot we decided to grab a drink and some nibbles at The Dock.

Doing this was awesome, made the day feel really relaxed and fun.

We then went to Pialligo Redwood Forest for some more photos. I can definitely say that the time between the ceremony and the reception was the most fun and relaxed part of the day.

Just hanging out with our bridal party taking photos was so much fun! And as you can see from the photos we were cracking up the whole time!
Kelly Tunney was amazing! She made us feel really comfortable and just captured the day as it went.

The reception
The reception was so much fun! Lots of dancing, music by the Baker Boys, and food was amazing!

We had so many people telling us how much they loved the venue and how good the food was. They also really loved the band!
