The Sparkling White Smile empire comes to Canberra

Canberrans can finally get their shine on.

Forget spending hours in a sterile dentist’s clinic, now you can get pearly whites at home (or the office, or pretty much anywhere you choose).

Realising that teeth whitening options were inconvenient and way out of her price range was the catalyst for Alison Egan to create mobile teeth whitening service Sparkling White Smile in 2014. She had a full-time job in the mental health sector at the time and was studying to be a nurse, but hoped it would be a good side hustle.

Within a year Alison was working 18 hours a day between her mental health job and teeth whitening, but she was soon able to quit her day job to focus on creating what has now become a multi-million dollar empire. With celebrity clients like Roxy Jacenko and Kayla Itsines, the company has expanded to employ a huge team and include 12 franchises across Australia. The rapid success brought some huge decisions for this 24-year-old entrepreneur.

The Sparkling White Smile phenomenon has landed in Canberra thanks to local franchise owners Georgia Wood and Greg Svarcas. Also in their early twenties and working full-time public service jobs, the couple share Alison’s passion for beautiful teeth.

“I had been following Sparkling White Smile on Instagram for a while, and the thing that got me hooked was the before and after photos,” explains Georgia. “Generally I’m someone who is quite into beauty and I’m attracted to a great smile.”

“Greg and I were always so keen to go up to Sydney and get our teeth whitened and one day we kind of looked at each other and said, ‘Why aren’t they in Canberra?’ We both have a lot of energy and we’re the kind of people who will put our all into anything and this opportunity just felt right.”

Clearly, lots of other Canberrans were wondering the same thing. Since they launched in August, Georgia and Greg have been flat out as the word spreads about Sparkling White Smile. Georgia will even be taking extra time out from her day job to cater to demand over the holiday period.

“It’s been amazing,” says Georgia. “I’m even finding just walking around Canberra that people come up to Greg and I because they know that we’re Sparkling White Smile Canberra and that’s such an incredible feeling.”

“We just focus on getting our clients the best results,” adds Greg. “We can customise every treatment to suit the individual and we’re really honest about what will work.”

To achieve the famous Sparkling White Smile results, Greg and Georgia use Alison’s patented whitening product, containing 6% hydrogen peroxide. Plus, they pride themselves on helping their clients feel great.

“I think having your teeth looking great can boost your confidence, 100%,” says Georgia. “So many people, when they finally get it done, look back and ask themselves why they didn’t do it earlier, because they didn’t even realise the potential their teeth had.”
