With so many couples choosing to live together before getting married, more brides and grooms-to-be are requesting money for their wedding via a wishing well – but not everyone’s happy about it. We asked around for your opinion…

“I think they are a pretty good idea, unless you have people invited from overseas. I think it’s much better than putting out a list, I don’t think people take notice of those anymore, I think that’s an outdated practice.”

“I think they are still relevant and a good idea. It allows the bride and groom to choose what they want so they don’t have to have household products that they already have as they probably have already been living together.”

“I think they are a good idea considering lots of people typically co-habitate before the wedding so traditional wedding gifts aren’t really needed. I think wishing wells are fine, especially if they are going to use it for a honeymoon or just towards whatever they want. I think it’s a great idea.”

“I think that wishing wells are a good option for the bride and groom especially if they want to go away on holiday. I also think a gift registry for David Jones or Myer is a good idea, but a lot of couples are already living together so they already have things like spoons and bedsheets.”

What do you think?
